On Saturday, Nov. 1, Gillies made 37 saves, including 17 in the third period, to help the Friars to a 2-1 victory at Boston University as Providence earned a weekend series split with the Terriers. In addition to his 74 saves, Gillies posted a 2.54 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage in the two games. It marked Gillies' ninth-career Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honor.
