PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's soccer team will host DePaul at 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Ray Treacy Track in Providence, R.I.

Scouting the Blue Demons
The Blue Demons enter Saturday's match with a 3-11-0 (2-3-0 BIG EAST) record. Last time out, DePaul fell, 1-0, to Georgetown at home. Leading the Blue Demons in goals (6) and points (12) is Simon Megally, while Hans Wustling leads the team in assists with five. Mack Robinson and Quentin Low have split time between the pipes this season. Robinson has appeared in 11 of the 14 games that DePaul has played, registering 33 saves, while Low has appeared in five games, recording nine saves.

Last Time Out
The Friars defeated Seton Hall, 4-0, on Oct. 7. Mac Steeves scored two of the four goals for the Friars to give him his ninth and 10th goals of the season. Julian Gressel and Manny Andrade also registered a goal each in that game. With the win, the Friars improved to 6-5-1 (2-3-0 BIG EAST) on the season.

Scoreless First Halves
Of the 13 games that Providence has played this season, six of them have had a 0-0 score at the end of the first 45 minutes, including four of the five BIG EAST games played.

Jeff Kilday Named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
After playing an important role in the Friar defense and his first goal of the season in the 3-0 shutout of Xavier on Oct. 10, Kilday was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week. The goal marked Kilday's second career goal and the honor marked his first BIG EAST honor of the season.

Mac Attack
Capturing 10 of the team's 18 goals this season, Steeves leads the team in goals and points (22). Steeves was all about the double goals during the first weekend of action. He registered two goals in each of Providence's home games, including the 2-1 overtime win against Bryant (Aug. 28) and the 2-0 shutout of Monmouth (Aug. 30). After the 4-0 win against Seton Hall on Oct. 17, Steeves recorded his third two-goal game of the season and has now scored at least one goal in seven of the 12 games the Friars have played this season.

The Friars are currently 5-2-0 on the season when Steeves scores.

Climbing the Friar Greats Ranks
After registering his 10th goal against Seton Hall on Oct. 17, Steeves now has 24 career goals as a Friar, ranking him tied for fourth all-time. In addition, after his five-point performance against Seton Hall (two goals and an assist), Steeves has accumulated 57 career points, moving him to sixth on the all-time career points leader board.

National Ranks
After registering his 10th goal of the season on Oct. 17 against Seton Hall, Steeves ranks 7th in the nation for total number of goals scored. He also ranks 5th for number of goals scored per game (0.83), eighth for points per game (1.83) and fifth for game-winning goals (4).

Brendan Constantine Named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week
After his assist on Steeves' goal in the game against Northeastern, Constantine was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week. Constantine now has two assists on the season and the recognition marked his second BIG EAST Weekly honor of the season.

Steeves Earns Conference And National Honors After First Weekend Of Action
For his performances against Bryant (Aug. 28) and Monmouth (Aug. 30), Steeves collected both conference and national weekly honors. On Aug. 31, the BIG EAST Conference named him as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while College Soccer News named Steeves National Player of the Week.

In The Polls
The Providence College men's soccer team has been featured in multiple national polls this season. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released its 2015 national preseason rankings on Aug. 3, ranking the Friars seventh in the nation after receiving a total of 474 votes. The preseason ranking is the highest the Providence men have ever been ranked entering the season. After the first weekend of action, both Soccer America and the NSCAA released their first regular season rankings. The Friars ranked 5th/8th (Soccer America/NSCAA) in those polls (Sept. 1), followed by a No. 4/18 (Soccer America/NSCAA) ranking on Sept. 8.

Men's Soccer Announces 2015 Team Captains
It was announced on Aug. 25 that men's soccer head coach Craig Stewart named red-shirt senior Jeff Kilday (Marshfield, Mass.), senior Manny Andrade (Faro, Cape Verde), and junior Julian Gressel as the captains for the 2015 season.

Gressel and Steeves Named To Preseason All-BIG EAST Team

The BIG EAST Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll and Preseason All-BIG EAST Team were released on Aug. 18. In addition to Providence being selected to finish third out of the 10 teams in the league, juniors Mac Steeves (Needham, Mass.) and Julian Gressel (Neustadt an der Aisch, Germany) were two of 12 men's soccer players in the BIG EAST to be named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. The honor marked Gressel's second consecutive Preseason All-BIG EAST Team honor and Steeves' first.

Steeves Named To U.S. Under-23 Men's Soccer National Team College Identification Training Camp
It was announced on July 28 that Providence College junior Mac Steeves was named to the U.S. Under-23 Men's National Team College Identification Training Camp. The camp took place from August 5-8 at the U.S. National Training Center in Carson, Calif. and served as an opportunity for head coach Andi Herzog and his staff to scout a new group of collegiate players as the team continues preparations ahead of qualifying for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Newcomers
A total of 10 players have joined the Friars for the 2015 season. The group of incoming players include
Alex Vigliotti (Branford, Conn.), Guyllian Kabala (Manchester, N.H.), Alexander DoRego (Riverside, R.I.), Tiago Mendonca (Faro, Portugal), Kyle Hartigan (Butler, N.J.), William Risigo (Kennebunkport, Maine), Taylor Demick (Freehold, N.J.), John Hamilton (East Hampstead, N.H.), Steve Kilday (Marshfield, Mass.), and Brendan Constantine (Glastonbury, Conn.).

The 2014 Friar Campaign
Last season, the Friars had their most successful campaign in Providence College soccer history. In addition to capturing their first ever BIG EAST Championship title, they also advanced to the NCAA College Cup semifinal for the first time in history. Along the road, six members of the team collected All-BIG EAST team honors, five were named to All-Regional teams and Phil Towler earned his first All-America accolade. At the BIG EAST Tournament, the Friars swept the MVP offensive and defensive awards, as well as naming four players to the All-Tournament team. Additionally, Mac Steeves was selected as the Most Valuable Offensive Player of the NCAA College Cup Tournament, as well as being named to the All-Tournament Team. With the honor, Steeves became the first player in the 31 seasons that a Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the College Cup has been selected (including each of the past 18 season) to earn the honor while playing for a team that did not advance to the Cup final. The 2014 team topped off the year with a 16-5-2 overall record, capturing the most wins a Providence team has had in Providence men's soccer history.
