PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College women's ice hockey sophomore forward Madison Sansone (Lockport, N.Y.) was named Warrior Co-Player of the Week in an announcement made by the league today (Nov. 9). Four other Friars were named Hockey East Top Performers. Sophomore forwards, Brooke Boquist (Thunder Bay, Ontario), Blair Parent (Anoka, Minn.), freshman forward Christina Putigna (Grimsby, Ontario), and freshman net-minder Madison Myers (Colchester, Vt.) each earned the weekly honor.

Sansone recorded two goals in the Friars' only game of the weekend against New Hampshire. The pair of Sansone goals secured the first win of the year for the Friars. The sophomore netted both goals with less than two minutes remaining in the game. Sansone's first goal, the game-tying goal, came when the Friars pulled the goalie for a 6-on-5 advantage. Her second goal, the game-winner, came just forty seconds later and lifted the Friars past the Wildcats, 5-4.

Boquist and Parent added two points in the game. Boquist tallied two goals while Parent registered two assists. This is the second honor for Boquist this season and seventh of her career. It is Parent's first recognition this season and second overall.

Putigna scored her first collegiate goal on the power play and added two assists, marking a career high of three points in the game. Putigna was named a top performer for her efforts and marks her first time receiving the honor. Myers collected 25 saves against New Hampshire and registered her first collegiate win. This is the second honor for Myers this season.
