Women's Track Competes At BU Valentine Invitational

The Providence College women's track team competed at the BU Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass. yesterday (Feb. 12).

Junior Catarina Rocha (Peabody, Mass.) was the standout performer of the evening after she crossed the finish of the 5,000 meters in a 22 second personal best time of 16:03.44 for second-place. Senior Lauren Mullins (Binghamton, N.Y.) and sophomore Katie Lembo (Penfield, N.Y.) also ran personal records in the race, finishing third (16:16.77) and fourth (16:17.89), respectively.

Prior to the 5,000 meters, junior Keelin Hollowood (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and sophomore Mackenzie Barry (Mendham, N.J.) raced to ECAC qualifying times in the 3,000 meters. Hollowood clocked in at 9:53.12 for a personal best time, while Barry crossed the line in 9:56.84.

The Friars will return to action at the BIG EAST Championships on Feb. 26th and 27th in Staten Island, N.Y.
