The Providence College men's soccer team tied the Marquette Golden Eagles, 2-2, in double-overtime on Saturday, Oct. 7 in Milwaukee, Wis. The Friars knotted the score in the 79th minute on a penalty kick by Mac Steeves (Needham, Mass.)

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- In the 15th minute, Alex DaCosta (Bristol, R.I.) made a save on the goal line to keep the score tied at 0-0. He was able to deny the chance from Marquette's Luka Prpa.
- At the 17:56 mark of the first half, Danny Griffin (Wethersfield, Conn.) scored his first goal of the season. Mac Steeves let the cross from Alex Vigliotti (Branford, Conn.) run through his legs and Griffin was waiting at the back post to put it away. The assist was Vigliotti's second of the season.
- In the 38th minute, the Friars nearly scored off a corner kick. Klisman Sousa (Sal, Cape Verde) put a header toward the back post where a Marquette defender was just able to head it off the line.
- The Golden Eagles were able to tie the game in the 64th minute. Connor Alba fed a pass into the goalmouth for Jason Davis, who slipped it through the legs of Colin Miller (Bel Air, Md.)
- Marquette took the lead off a corner kick in the 72nd minute. Prpa's corner kick found Brendan Skinner at the back post and he was able to score for the Golden Eagles.
- Steeves evened the score at two in the 79thminute to propel the game into overtime.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Friars host cross-town rival Brown on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7:00 p.m. The game, which will be played on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium, will serve as the team's Pink Out Friartown game. Pink shirts will be sold to raise money in support of the Gloria Gemma Foundation.
