PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Hockey East Association announced today (Dec. 5) that Providence College freshman
Jack Dugan (Rochester, N.Y.) was named the league's Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month for November. It is the second time that Dugan has been named the league's Rookie of the Month and just the second time a Friar has earned the recognition twice in a season (Jon Gillies, 2012-13).
A 2017 fifth-round draft pick of the Vegas Golden Knights, Dugan paced all Hockey East rookies in November in goals (4), assists (5), points (9) and points per game (1.12). The freshman posted three multi-point performances last month, including a three-point game against Merrimack on Nov. 17. He also recorded a goal and an assist at No. 7 Denver on Nov. 24 and held a career-long four-game point streak (3-4-7).
Dugan and the Friars close out the first half of the regular season schedule on Friday night (Dec. 7) at Merrimack. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at Lawler Rink in North Andover, Mass.
