-Boston College took an early lead just 1:26 into the first period of play. The Eagles pushed the puck up the ice to Jillian Fey skating into the right circle. Fey fed Savannah Norcross in front of the crease who finished a one-timer past

- The Friars and Eagles failed to convert on their lone power play opportunities in the opening 20 minutes.

Maureen Murphy (Buffalo, N.Y.) found the equalizer just 25 seconds into the second period. Murphy turned over an Eagle at center ice before taking the puck in front of the crease and firing a wrist shot, stick side, past the goaltender.
- Murphy's goal marked her team-leading sixth goal of the season and increased her point streak to nine games.
- The Eagles took control of the game for the remainder of the second period, scoring four unanswered goals to take a 5-1 lead. Delaney Belinskas and Caroline DeFiore scored with even strength before Kelly Browne capitalized on a powerplay. Delaney Belinskas scored her second goal of the game short-handed to cap off the scoring in the period.
- Murphy scored her second goal of the game with 2:56 remaining in the third period. Murphy took the puck up the right wall before putting a wrist shot to the bottom left corner. This marked her first multi-goal performance of the season.
- Providence went to the power play four times on the afternoon but failed to get the puck past Maddy McArthur. The Friars were 66% on the penalty kill, allowing one goal on three opportunities.
- Minnerath earned the start in net and allowed five goals in 29:48 minutes, she tallied 10 saves.
Sandra Abstreiter (Freising, Germany) relieved Minnerath with 10:12 remaining in the second period. She finished the game with 15 saves and 0 goals against.
