PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Freshman defenseman
Lauren DeBlois (Lewiston, Maine) of the Providence College women's hockey team has been named to the Hockey East Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team, as announced by the league today (March 4).
DeBlois finished her freshman campaign with 23 points, third-best on the team, after tallying six goals alongside 17 assists. Three of her goals came as game-winners, including the game-winning goal at Northeastern on Feb. 14. Four of her goals came on the power play this season. She recorded 67 shots on the year and played in all 36 of Providence's contests.
The rookie defenseman recorded three multi-point games this season including a season-high four points against Brown on Nov. 30, she scored one goal and tallied three assists in the game. DeBlois ranks fourth in points and tied for second in assists among all Hockey East rookies.
Hockey East will announce the remainder of its league awards during the championship weekend banquet on Friday, March 6.
