The first period remained scoreless for both teams, going into the first intermission tied at 0-0.
Northeastern struck first at the end of the second period with a goal from Skylar Fontaine on the power play, giving the Huskies a 1-0 lead. Peyton Anderson struck 25 seconds later, carrying a 2-0 lead into the second intermission.
The Huskies added two more goals in the third period from Andrea Renner (10:18) and Chloe Aurard (16:19).

The Friars are back in action this weekend for a home-and-home series against Merrimack. Providence will travel to Merrimack on Friday, Jan. 15 at 4:00 p.m. and will return to Schneider Arena to play the Warriors on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 1:00 p.m.
