-Merrimack struck first, 1-0, with a goal from Declan Carlile in the opening 2:49 of play.
-The Warriors followed it up with another goal, 2-0, from Logan Drevitch on the power play after
Chase Yoder was whistled for a cross-check at 12:13.
-Providence got on the board, 2-1, with a power play goal by
Brett Berard with 3:14 remaining the first period. Berard was assisted by
Patrick Moynihan and
Parker Ford on his seventh power play goal of the season, a team-high.

Nick Poisson netted one for the Friars with 4:26 remaining in play but Merrimack challenged the goal for offsides and the goal was waived after review.

Jaxson Stauber was pulled from the net with 2:51 to go for the extra-attacker but re-entered only 17 seconds later after Merrimack earned a penalty for holding at 17:26.
-Stauber re-exited with 1:10 remaining in Merrimack's penalty for a 6-on-4 Friars advantage for the remaining 1:44 of play, but the Friars were unable to capitalize.
