Women's Hockey Visits Holy Cross for Mid-Week Matchup

Puck Drop
The Friars will travel to the Hart Center in Worcester, Mass. for a hockey east matchup against the Holy Cross Crusaders this Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 6:00 p.m.

Scouting the Friars
The Friars hold a 8-12-5 overall record on the season and are 5-11-2 in the Hockey East. Providence hosted Maine this past weekend for two home games at Schneider Arena. The Friars dropped both games against the Black Bears, falling 1-2 on Friday, Jan. 28 and 1-4 on Sunday, Jan. 30. Delaney Couture (Shrewsbury, Mass.) tallied the lone goal for Providence in Fridays match while captain Caroline Peterson (East Falmouth, Mass.) scored the only goal for the Friars on Sunday.
 
Lindsay Bochna (Toronto, Ontario) and Hayley Lunny (Bedford, N.Y.) lead the charge offensively for the Friars with 14 points each, both off of six goals and eight assists. Peterson follows the two with ten points (five goals, five assists). Lauren DeBlois (Lewiston, Maine) leads the team in blocks (42) and is followed up by Lunny who has registered 38 total blocks.
 
Providence has 19 different players in the line-up with at least a point. Eighteen different players have posted an assists, while fifteen players have found the back of the net.
 
Sandra Abstreiter (Freising, Germany) and Mireille Kingsley (Sudbury, Ontario) have split time in net for the Friars. Abstreiter has seen 16 starts and has recorded a 1.93 goals against average and .939 save percentage over that time. Kingsley has nine starts in net for Providence and holds a 1.65 goals against average and .939 save percentage.

Scouting the Crusaders
The Crusaders enter the game at 3-22 (1-19 HEAW). Holy Cross is coming off of two losses against Boston University (3-4) and UConn (1-2). As a team, they average 1.4 goals per game and is 6/83 on the power play and 17/84 on the penalty kill.

Who to Watch
Leading the team in points is senior Carlie Magier, who has tallied 10 points off of five goals and five assists. She is followed up by Darci Johal and Millie Sirum who have nine points each.  

Jada Brenon has played 19 games in net this season. She holds a 3.62 goals against average, a .900 save percentage and a 2-17-0 record.
