KANSAS CITY, MO. – It was announced Wednesday (Aug. 12) that Providence College men's soccer player
Bruno Rosa (Cascais, Portugal) was named to the 2025 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's Players to Watch list for forwards. Rosa is the first Friar to receive this recognition since Gevork Diarbian in 2022.
Rosa joined the Friars in 2023 and immediately made his presence felt, playing in all 17 games, scoring four goals. In 2024 Rosa started in 22 games for the Friars and led the team in points (16) and assists (six). He earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors at the conclusion of the season.
The United Soccer Coaches Players to Watch lists are being released to promote college soccer leading up to the official start date for the regular season later this month. These lists include United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and first or second team All-Region players from 2024, who are scheduled to return for the 2025 season.
Providence College finished last year's regular season with a share of the BIG EAST East Division regular-season title. The Friars qualified as the second seed in the BIG EAST Tournament where they defeated No.7 seed UCONN in the Quarterfinal Round and then No.3 seed St. John's in the Semifinal Round to advance to the program's seventh appearance in a BIG EAST Championship Game. The Friars earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament where they defeated Bucknell 2-1 in the first round on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.
The Friars will open the 2025 season at Rutgers on Aug. 21. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7:00 p.m. To view the entire 2025 Providence College men's soccer schedule,
