NEW YORK, N.Y. - Providence College women's soccer players
Ella McBride (Peterborough, Ont.) and
Courtnee Pickles (Methuen, Mass.) earned BIG EAST Weekly Honors on Monday, Aug 25. McBride was named Defensive Player of the Week and Pickles was selected to the weekly Honor Roll following Providence's 2-1 victory over Northeastern on Sunday, Aug. 25.
McBride anchored the Friars' defense, logging 90 minutes of action in the team's 2-1 win over Northeastern. The senior helped limit Northeastern to only two shots on goal in the match.
Pickles was credited with the game-winning goal in the 67th minute against Northeastern. It also marked her first career goal with the Friars.
The Friars will return to action on Sunday, Aug. 30 when they travel to Kingston, R.I., to take on the Rhode Island Rams (3-0-0). The game will kick off at 7:00 p.m. and stream on ESPN+.
