Women's Hockey Falls To #6/6 Quinnipiac, 6-1

Bella Paolucci scored the lone goal for the Friars and her first of the season.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's hockey team was defeated by No. 6/6 Quinnipiac, 5-1, on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I. The Friars fall to 2-2-0, while Quinnipiac stays undefeated at 4-0-0. Sophomore Bella Paolucci (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.) scored the lone goal in the Friars loss.

GAME FLOW & NOTES

  

1st Period

-Quinnipiac struck first at 4:44 as Alex Law put the Bobcats up, 1-0. Her goal was assisted by Ilsa Lindaman and Bryn Prier.

-The Bobcats doubled their lead as Avery Bairos scored at 9:58 to make it 2-0. Kahlen Lamarche and Clara-Mai Van Houtte-Cachero were credited with assists.

-Quinnipiac extended their lead to 3-0, as Law grabbed her second goal of the afternoon at 14:39. Van Houtte-Cachero and Prier were awarded their second assists.

-The Bobcats outshot the Friars 17-3.

2nd Period

-The Friars struck back with a goal at 12:04 to get them on the board, 3-1. Paolucci scored her first of the season and was assisted by senior Dylan Berman (Deephaven, Minn.) and sophomore Molly Farace (Otonabee, Ontario).

-Both the Friars and the Bobcats killed a power play.

  

3rd Period

-The Bobcats extended their lead at 2:23 as Avery Bairos scored to make it 4-1. The assisted was awarded to Lamarche for her second of the game.

-Quinnipiac extended their lead as Cassidy Lobisser scored her first collegiate goal at 7:28 to put the Bobcats up 5-1. The goal was assisted by Peyton Cormier.

-Providence killed three power plays against Quinnipiac.

 

-The Bobcats killed two power plays against the Friars.

-Quinnipiac pushed their lead to 6-1 as Aynsley D'Ottavio scored at 14:39 on an unassisted goal.

NOTES

-Sophomore Bella Paolucci's goal marks her first of the 2026-27 season.
