OCALA, FLA. – The Providence College swimming & diving programs concluded competition at the 2026 BIG EAST Conference Swimming & Diving Championships on Feb. 20 in Ocala, Fla.
Rory Sheridan was the lone Friar to compete in the women's 1,650-yard freestyle during the BIG EAST Championship. She played 15
th with a time of 17:13.61. Sheridan set school records in the 1,650-yard freestyle and 1,000-yard free in the same race with her performance.
Bella Lombard paced a group of Friars in the finals of the 200-yard backstroke with a 12
th-place finish in a time of 2:02.47.
Brooke Sowka touched the wall in 2:03.70 for 18
th place, followed by
Siara Celentano (21
st, 2:06.78) and
Liza Goetcheus (24
th, 2:12.90).
Five Friars competed in the finals of the 100-yard free and were led by
Elizabeth Burke's 16
th-place finish (52.46).
Madelyn Harvey, who finished 24
th in the prelims, jumped to 19
th in the final with a time of 53.07. She was followed by
Natalia Robak in 20
th (53.10) and
Julia Renzelmann in 21
st (53.12).
Rylie Foley rounded out the finals with a 24
th-place finish (53.38).
Lauren Wagner had a strong race in the 200-yard breaststroke final with an 11
th-place finish in 2:20.62.
Madi Ebanks claimed 17
th (2:25.83).
Annie Gathof led the way for the women's squad in the finals of the 200-yard butterfly with a 16
th-place showing in 2:08.11. Sheridan, competing in her second final of the day, placed 21
st with a time of 2:11.93.
Mackenzie Riga rounded out the field with a 24
th-place finish (2:16.81).
The women's concluded competition with the 400-yard freestyle relay comprised of
Elizabeth Burke,
Madelyn Harvey,
Julia Renzelmann and
Natalia Robak. The group finished seventh with a time of 3:30.74.
Ivan Reber had an impressive race in the 1,650-yard free on the men's side, placing seventh overall in a time of 15:52.
Conor Duggan finished 12
th in the event with a time of 16:24.96.
In the 100-yard freestyle final on the men's side,
Jake Stachowicz (14
th) and
Gabe Hawkins (15
th) finished within two-one-hundredths of a second of one another. Stachowicz finished in 45.96, followed by Hawkins at 45.98.
Nathan Thayer was 16
th with a time of 46.86.
Aidan Ochoa finished 13
th in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:05.96. He was followed by
Quinn Schwab in 16
th (2:07.04.
The duo of
Quinn Danus and
Aidan Puk finished 15
th and 16
th, respectively, in the 200-yard butterfly finals. Danus clocked out in 1:52.93 and Puk touched the wall in 1:53.41.
The men's 400-yard freestyle relay team closed out the BIG EAST Championship with
Kieran Duffy, Stachowicz, Thayer and Hawkins taking fifth place (3:03.79).
