ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Providence College men's golf team completed the three-day Peoples Championship on Saturday, March 14 at Sea Island Resort in St. Simons Island, Ga. The Friars finished 18th in the 21-team field with a team score of 877 (+25). Freshman Callan Fahey (Wheaton, Ill.) was the top finisher for the Friars, placing tied for 22nd with a score of 213 (E).
Xavier claimed the team title with a 838 (-14) across three rounds, while Xavier's Cayse Morgan earned the individual title with a 202 (-11). Providence opened the tournament with a 295 before a 292 in round two and closing with a 290 in the final round.
Fahey recorded a four-under 67 in the opening round with six birdies, the most in a round he's recorded this season. The freshman finished with 12 birdies on the weekend.
