 2026 NCAA Men's Hockey Bracket

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's hockey team has earned an at-large bid to the 2026 NCAA Tournament as the 16-team bracket was unveiled on Sunday (March 22). The Friars (23-10-2) will be the No. 2 seed in the Sioux Falls Regional facing off against No. 3-seeded Quinnipiac (26-9-3) on Thursday (March 27) at Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. The game will be aired on ESPN+ beginning at 5:00 ET.

The Friars are 17-21 all-time in NCAA Tournament games. The team earns its second-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and 17th overall appearance.

Thursday marks just the eighth meeting all-time between Providence and Quinnipiac, with the Friars holding a 4-2-1 advantage in the series. The teams met in an exhibition game back on Oct. 5, a 2-1 Providence victory. This will be the first official meeting between the teams since a NCAA showdown in 2014 as the Friars defeated the Bobcats, 4-0, in the NCAA Northeast Regional in Bridgeport, Conn.

The winner will advance to the Sioux Falls Regional Final against either North Dakota or Merrimack on Saturday, March 28. Game time and broadcast information will be announced.
