PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's basketball Head Coach
Bryan Hodgson announced today (April 11) that guard Dink Pate (Dallas, Texas) has signed an athletic aid agreement to attend Providence in 2026-27.
"This is an exciting day for Providence College basketball," Hodgson said. "I have followed Dink's career for a number of years. He is a very talented basketball player and we believe Friar fans will be excited to see him play in the Amp next season. Dink has competed in the G-League for the last three seasons and we have seen him display his skill and athleticism while showing continual improvement."
Pate played for the Westchester Knicks of the NBA G League in 2025-26. In 36 games, he averaged 16.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists. He shot 41.8 percent (205-491) from field, including 36.9 percent from three. Pate connected on 103 of his 279 three-point attempts. He had 10 games with 20 or more points, including a career-high 31 points on Jan. 9, 2026 versus the Kings. He also shot 8-14 from three in the game. Pate recorded seven double-doubles in 2025-26. He registered a career-high 13 rebounds, as well as 26 points, versus the Celtics on Feb. 1, 2026.
Pate joined the Mexico City Capitanes during the 2024-25 NBA G League season. He averaged 10.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 34 games. Played in the 2025 Castrol Rising Stars Challenge for Team G League.
In his first season in the NBA G League. Pate played for the Ignite during the 2023-24 season. He averaged 8.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 31 games.
Prior to joining the G-League, Pate attended L.G. Pinkston High School in Dallas, Texas. In 2022-23, he averaged 20.3 points per game and was named the 2022-23 District 13-4A Most Valuable Player. He was selected to the 2022-23 University Interscholastic League Boys 4A All-Region Team and All-State Team. Pate was 30th ranked recruit in the class of 2023, according by ESPN.com.
