SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame defeated Providence College, 4-0, in men's BIG EAST soccer action on Saturday, October 9 in South Bend, Ind.
Notre Dame midfielder Dustin Pridmore registered the only goal of the first half when he headed in a shot at the 3:32 mark. Pridmore added his second goal of the game to open the second half at 45:27. Erich Braun tallied two goals in the 74th minute to seal the win for the Fighting Irish.
Notre Dame goalkeepers Gerick Short and Greg Tait combined to make two saves in the win. PC sophomore goalkeeper Danny Glynn recorded five saves for the Friars.
With the victory, Notre Dame raised its record to 7-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in BIG EAST action, while Providence fell to 4-6-1 overall and 3-4 in league play.
Providence College returns to action on Friday, October 15 against Syracuse at PC at 2:30 p.m.
