KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Rhode Island defeated Providence College, 4-1, in men's soccer action on Wednesday, Sept. 22 in Kingston, R.I.
Friar junior forward Kevin Jones netted the only goal of the first half at 11:27 to give PC a 1-0 lead after 45 minutes of action. The Rams' offense took over in the second half recording four goals, including two by Winston Griffiths to pace URI to a 4-1 win.
Rhode Island goalkeeper Mark Bryant made two saves in the win. PC sophomore goalie Danny Glynn recorded three saves for the Friars.
With the victory, Rhode Island raised its record to 4-1-1 overall, while Providence fell to 3-2-1 overall.
Providence College returns to action on Saturday, September 25 at West Virginia at 7:00 p.m.
