SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse defeated Providence College, 2-0, in men's BIG EAST soccer action on Friday, October 20 in Syracuse, N.Y.
Syracuse freshman Kirk Johnson (Chester Springs, Pa.) scored two first half goals at 23:43 and 42:22 to give the Orangemen the win.
Syracuse senior goalkeeper Kevin Bacher (East Meadow, N.Y.) made three saves in the win. Friar junior goalkeeper Danny Glynn (Manchester, England) recorded six stops for PC.
With the victory, Syracuse raised its record to 8-4-2 overall and 4-3-2 in BIG EAST action, while Providence fell to 3-10-1 overall and 3-6-1 in league action.
Providence College returns to action on Sunday, October 22 at St. John's at 1:00 p.m.
