The Providence College women's hockey team skated to a 1-1 overtime tie against Princeton University on Friday, November 16 at PC's Schneider Arena.
Princeton took a 1-0 lead at the 5:27 mark of the first period as sophomore Gretchen Anderson (Natick, Mass) scored off an assist from sophomore Susan Hobson (Mississauga, Ont.). The Friars tied the game at the 16:39 mark of the first period on senior Angela Hill's (Pascoag, R.I.) first goal of the season. Sophomore Darlene Stephenson (Virden, Manitoba) was credited with the assist.
The Friars outshot the Tigers 24-23. Princeton's Sarah Ahlquist (South St. Paul, Mich.) made 23 saves in net for the Tigers, while Amy Quinlan stopped 22 shots for the Friars.
The Friars moved to 3-4-2, while the Tigers moved to 1-3-1.
The Friars return to action on Sunday, November 18 as they host Ohio State at 2:00 p.m. at PC's Schneider Arena.
