The Division I National Soccer Coaches Association of America Northeast Regional women's soccer poll was released on Monday, October 6 and the Friars were ranked 10th in the region.

The Friars got off to their best start in the last 13 seasons this year with a 4-1 record. Their strong defensive play and timely scoring has helped Providence to a 5-4-2 record overall. The team is led by senior goalkeeper Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Mass.), who has notched five shutouts this season, and junior midfielders Maura Robertson (Wellesley, Mass.) and BriAnne Bruni (Bristol, Conn.), who lead the team in scoring with three goals and two assists each.

Providence plays again on Friday, October 10 and Sunday, October 12 at St. John's and Syracuse, respectively. The Friars will look to improve in the BIG EAST with two solid performances against these conference foes.
