CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior Amber Jacobs (Clarks Summit, Pa.) scored 18 points, and freshman Brooke Queenan (West Chester, Pa.) added 12 to lead Boston College to a 76-42 victory over Providence in Conte Forum Wednesday night.
The Eagles (14-4, 4-3) shot 54.8 percent from the field in the first half and Jacobs tallied 16 points, including a 4-for-4 effort from three-point range, to take a 19 point lead at the break. Providence shot 26.7 percent in the first 20:00 of play.
Boston College did not look back as Queenan scored six of the Eagles 11 unanswered points to open up the second half and built the lead to 30 with 17 minutes left to play.
Eleven different Eagles scored in the contest. Junior Clare Droesch (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) helped lead the offensive attack scoring five points and handing out seven assists. Junior Jessalyn Deveny (Westford, Mass.) added nine points and freshman Kathrin Ress (Salorno, Italy) tallied seven points and grabbed five rebounds.
Gayle Nwafii tallied a double-double (13 points, 13 rebounds) to lead Providence. The Friars, who have dropped six straight, fall to 4-13 overall and 0-6 in BIG EAST play.
