Fiorvanti Named Independant Volleyball Setter Of The Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Junior Annie Fiorvanti (Northport, N.Y.) was named the Division I Independent Volleyball Setter of the Week today, for her performance in three matches this past week.

Fiorvanti registered her first career triple-double in the Friars' win over Marist this past Friday, Oct. 1. The setter totaled season-highs of 59 assists, 18 digs and 13 kills leading the Friars to their fourth win of the season and a 1-2 overall showing last week. For the week, Fiorvanti averaged 2.00 kills, 2.64 digs and 9.09 assists over 11 games and totaled 22 kills, 29 digs and 100 assists.

On the year, Fiorvanti is averaging 1.27 kills (80 overall), 1.86 digs (117 overall) and 8.27 assists (521 overall). She also has recorded four double-doubles on the year.

Providence volleyball (4-13) returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 6th as it hosts Central Connecticut. The match is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m., at Mullaney Gymnasium in Alumni Hall.
