PISCATAWAY, NJ - Nikki Jett (Columbia, SC) registered a season-high 20 points and Shalicia Hurns (Indianapolis, IN) narrowly missed a triple-double as Rutgers (15-9, 7-5 BIG EAST) cruised to an 81-45 win over Providence (4-19, 0-12 BIG EAST) on Wednesday evening at the RAC.

Providence was paced by Brooke Freeburg with 13 points.

Jett and Hurns (12 points, nine rebounds, seven assists) paced a well-balanced offense as six players scored in double figures. The 81 points were a season high for RU, which shot 48.4 percent from the field.

Rutgers controlled the game from the start, building a 12-1 lead four minutes into regulation. Jett was the offensive star for RU, as she matched her season high with 13 points in the first 20 minutes of action. RU's frontline of Hurns and Michelle Campbell (Princeton, NJ) combined for 13 points and 10 rebounds as Rutgers built a 40-19 halftime advantage.

RU scored 13 of the first 17 points in the second half and never looked back. The Scarlet Knights forced 22 Providence turnovers, scoring 20 points off those miscues.

Campbell finished with 13 points, while Cappie Pondexter (Chicago, IL), Courtney Locke (San Marcos, TX) and Rebecca Richman (Bronx, NY) each had 10 points.
