It was a milestone game for junior Rush Zimmerman (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) and Head Coach Bob Deraney as they broke the century mark for career points and wins, respectively. Zimmerman tallied two assists in the third period to reach 100 points (45 goals, 55 assists) in her career, while Head Coach Bob Deraney raised his career record to 100-56-18.

Sophomore Karen Thatcher (Douglas, Mass.) scored what would prove to be the game winner just under eight minutes later as she deflected a shot from junior Ashley Payton (Chesterfield, Mo.) past Davis. Boston College's Kaitlin McGrath closed out the first period as she was able to jam the puck under sophomore goaltender Jana Bugden (Corner Brook, Newfoundland) with two seconds remaining in the period.
The Friars stretched their lead as they scored four unanswered goals in the second and third periods to put the game out of reach. Senior Kelli Halcisak (Grosse Ile, Mich.) scored the lone goal in the second period, while senior Darlene Stephenson (Virden, Manitoba) scored once and freshman Sonny Watrous (Albuquerque, N.M.) tallied two goals in the third.
