The Providence College Volleyball team will welcome Chelsey Thompson (Scottsdale, Ariz.) to its 2008 roster next season. Thompson will join the Friars as an outside hitter from Notre Dame Prep where she just recently won the Class 4A Division II State Championship. Head Coach Margot Royer and the Friar Volleyball program is delighted to have added Thompson to next season's roster.
Hometown: Scottsdale, Ariz. High School: Notre Dame Preparatory Height: 5-10 Position: OH
At Notre Dame Prep: Lettered in volleyball at Notre Dame Prep all four years... Captained her high school team her senior season... Voted as team MVP as a senior... Was named the team's Most Improved player her junior year... Was named the Best Offensive player as a sophomore... Led her team to the Class 4A Division II state and regional championship titles in 2007... Played two years for the Phoenix North Valley Club... An honor roll student as a junior and senior... Was a World Difference Peer Leader in high school.
Personal: The daughter of Jerry and Peggy Thompson... Has two older sisters, Kelly and Courtney... Born June 25, 1990... Expected major is psychology.
