Providence, R.I. - In the third game of day two at the 2007 Friar Volleyball Classic, Coppin State earned its first win of the season with a 3-0 victory over Saint Francis. The Eagles won by the scores of 31-29, 30-22, and 32-30. Senior Indira Laurencin (Castries, St. Lucia) had a match-high 21 kills and added 11 digs and six blocks.
Coppin State senior Danyel Davis (Oakland, Calif.) also registered double-figure kills with 10 and had seven digs. Junior Brittany Arvin (Omaha, Neb.) put in a solid performance for the Eagles with nine kills and 10 digs.
Senior Jadelyn Castillo (Bronx, N.Y.) tallied double-figure kills with 10 for Saint Francis. Freshman libero Liliana Rodriguez (Linden, N.J.) put in another solid defensive effort recording a match-high 19 digs.
