Volleyball Ranks In Four Categories

After completing last week with a 4-0 record including winning the Friar Volleyball Classic, the Providence College volleyball team finds itself ranked in a number of categories in the latest NCAA statistics release. Junior Elizabeth Flynn (Bellerose, N.Y.) ranks 30th in the nation in hitting percentage with a mark of .398. She currently has 157 kills, which is second on the team behind senior Sarah Fleming (Saint Paul, Minn.) who has 158.

Junior Sara Sheehan (West Chester, Pa.) ranks 50th among all Division 1 volleyball players averaging .60 aces per game. Providence ranks 28th with 2.30 service aces per game. The Friars will play Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday, September 22, who rank first with 3.06 aces per game. Providence also ranks 64th in hitting percentage with a mark of .235.

The Friars travel to Fairfield, Conn. this weekend, September 22-23, to participate in the Sacred Heart Invitational with matches against Maryland-Eastern Shore, Saint Francis and the host school Sacred Heart.
