Hamden, Conn. - The Providence College volleyball team was swept 3-0, by Rider on day two of the Bobcat Invitational on Satruday, September 8. Rider won by the scores of 30-28, 30-24, and 31-29. The Friars were led by senior Sarah Fleming (Saint Paul, Minn.) who tallied a team-high 12 kills. With the loss, the Friars dip below .500 with a 3-4 record. Rider improves to 1-6.

Fleming also contributed five digs, two assists and two blocks. Junior Elizabeth Flynn (Bellerose, N.Y.) had another double-figure kill match with 11. Junior setter Sasra Sheehan (West Chester, Pa.) registered a game-high 33 asssits.

"The team lacked intensity this afternoon and we took Rider a little lightly. Rider took advantage of our frustration and won the match," said Head Coach Margot Royer.

Providence will conclude play at the Bobcat Invitational at 7:00 pm tonight against Quinnipiac.
