The Providence College volleyball team will face Central Connecticut State at home on Tuesday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m. The Friars will look to move their winning streak to four matches against the Blue Devils. PC enters the match with an 11-10 record, while Central Connecticut is 4-11. Friar fans can watch the match live via subscription service on Friars.com.
The Friars posted a 1-0 record this past week, defeating Sacred Heart, 3-0, on Tuesday, October 7. The win was the Friars' third-straight, tying the team's longest streak of the season. Against the Pioneers, senior Kelly Krahenbuhl (Larkspur, Colo.) paced the PC defense with 14 digs and added two service aces. Senior Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added six kills, seven digs and eight total blocks in another strong all-around effort for Providence. Over her last three matches, Toney has compiled an impressive 19 total blocks.
In tonight's contest, Toney has a chance to make history. The 5-10 middle blocker needs only four blocks to tie Jennifer Winslow for second place on the PC all-time blocks list. She currently has 393 for her career.
