Newark, N.J. - The Providence College volleyball team beat Bryant, 3-0, in the team's second match of the NJIT Halloween Classic. The Friars won the match with game scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-21. With the win, PC moves to 14-14, while Bryant drops to 16-14. The Friars are now 1-1 in the tournament.
Senior Sara Sheehan (West Chester, Pa.) posted a double-double in the victory, registering 28 assists and 10 digs. Senior Elizabeth Flynn (Bellerose, N.Y.) led the Friar attack with 13 kills and improved on her nationally-ranked hitting percentage, posting a .458 mark. Leading Providence at the net was senior Jeanette Toney (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who recorded seven digs and eight total blocks.
The win was the Friars' first in three attempts against Bryant this season.
Providence plays another match in the Halloween Classic on Saturday, November 1. The Friars will face Howard at 2:00 p.m.
