Volleyball To Honor Seniors Saturday

The Providence College volleyball team will play Quinnipiac at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8 in Mullaney Gymnasium. Prior to the match, Head Coach Margot Royer and members of the athletic department will honor the team's five seniors for their contributions to the program. The Friars enter the match with a record of 14-15, while Quinnipiac is 4-27.

Last time out, the Friars fell to Howard, 3-1, on Saturday, November 1. Senior Elizabeth Flynn (Bellerose, N.Y.) paced the Friar attack with 17 kills, hitting at a .343 clip. After today's match, PC plays its final home match of the season on Wednesday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. against Rhode Island. The match will be televised via tape delay on November 13 at 7:00 p.m.

Volleyball Senior Profiles:

#2 Sara Sheehan, Setter... Sheehan, a co-captain on the 2008 squad, has played in 431 career games for the Friars and ranks third on Providence' s all-time assists list with 3,181. For her career, she has averaged 7.38 assists per game. Sheehan will also finish her career second on the team's all-time service aces list, recording 163 over four years of play. The 5-9 setter is a native of Westchester, Pa. and is the daughter of Kate and Joe Sheehan.

#5 Aida Cadres, Outside Hitter... Cadres, the other captain on the 2008 team, does a little bit of everything for the Friars. The 5-10 outside hitter has played in 395 games in her career and has posted 602 kills and 823 digs. Cadres has also contributed 109 service aces during her time at PC. Throughout her career, Cadres has been a consistent vocal leader for the Friars. Aida is originally from Los Angeles, Calif. and is the daughter of Adele and Martin Cadres.

#7 Elizabeth Flynn, Middle Blocker... Flynn will end her career as the most accurate hitter in team history. The 6-0 middle blocker's career hitting percentage of .330 and season percentage of .411 this year both rank first in the Friar record books. During her senior campaign, Flynn has consistently been ranked in the top 10 nationally with her incredible percentage totals. She has 951 kills over her 341-game career. Flynn is from Bellerose, N.Y. and is the daughter of James and Elizabeth Flynn.

#10 Jeanette Toney, Middle Blocker... Toney has been an intimidating force at the net throughout her career as a Friar. She has recorded 1,190 kills and 435 total blocks (1.0 blocks per game) over her four years of play, and her block total places her second on Providence's all-time list. The 5-10 middle blocker has also registered 391 digs over her 434-game career. Toney is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. and is the daughter of Roxann and Andrew Toney.

#11 Kelly Krahenbuhl, Defensive Specialist... Krahenbuhl has been the defensive stalwart of the Friars over the course of her career, often serving as the team's libero. Over her four years, Krahenbuhl has recorded 1,360 digs and needs only 21 more to move into fifth place on Providence's all-time digs list. She has averaged 3.46 digs per game during her 393-game career. Krahenbuhl is a native of Larkspur, Colo. and is the daughter of Doug and Sue Krahenbuhl.
