PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore volleyball student-athlete Carly Morrison (Larkspur, Calif.) earned Independent Volleyball Player of the Week honors on Tuesday, October 13. It marks the first time Morrison has won the award in her career.
The 5-9 setter posted 30 assists, averaging 10 assists per set, in the Friars' 3-0 win over Bryant on Tuesday, October 6. Morrison also notched a career-high five service aces and added three kills, four digs and three block assists. In 2009, she leads the Friars with 621 assists and ranks second on the team with 32 service aces and third with 146 digs.
On the season, Morrison has also earned South Carolina State Spikefest and Friar Classic All-Tournament honors.
The Friars are back in action on Wednesday, October 14 with a match against Central Connecticut in New Britain, Conn.
