The Providence College men's swimming and diving team (0-4, 0-1 BIG EAST) was defeated by Boston College last night, 172-87, at PC's Taylor Natatorium.
Sophomore diver Ben Kardian (Valhalla, N.Y.) was challenged by BC's Martin Long in the 1m diving event, but prevailed in the end thanks to a dive that scored 277.35 points. The point total marks the highest of Kardian's collegiate career thus far.
Sophomore Chris Morales (Ridgewood, N.J.) and junior Collin Casciano (Hewitt, N.J.) earned victories in separate butterfly events. Morales won the 200m with a time of 2:14.99, while Casciano beat out 16 competitors to win the 100m event (1:00.75).
The Friars have a quick turnaround as they, along with the women, host Brown on Friday, November 12 at 5:00 p.m. The teams then host Bryant the following day on Saturday, November 13 at 11:00 a.m.
