PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The NSCAA/HendrickCars.com Regional Rankings currently has Providence College women's soccer (6-1-1, 0-0-1 BIG EAST) tied for 10th in the Northeast Region. The poll is submissions and voting conducted by coaches.
The Friars are currently on a four-game unbeaten streak and have notched six shutouts on the season. The six shutouts is tied for most in the BIG EAST with No. 7 Notre Dame. Providence also is coming off a 0-0 tie on September 17 against the University of Connecticut in its BIG EAST opener. It marks the first time the Friars have earned a point in their BIG EAST opener since tying Boston College, 2-2, in 2002.
The National Soccer Coach's Association of America is an organization of American soccer coaches founded in 1941. The NSCAA has grown from a handful of college soccer coaches to more than 22,000 members, making it the largest coaching organization in the world. The NSCAA also publishes weekly rankings for intercollegiate and high school soccer during the fall seasons and less frequently during the winter and spring high school seasons.
The Friars are back in action on Thursday, September 23 against Syracuse University at 4:00 p.m. on PC's Glay Field, in Providence, R.I.
