PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team (7-10, 0-0) will travel to New Hampshire on Tuesday, September 28, for a non-conference showdown with Dartmouth (9-2, 1-0). This marks the final match for the Friars before the start of America East regular-season play on Friday.
Providence continues to be led by junior Lauren Fletcher (Syracuse, N.Y.), who leads the league in kills per set (3.84) while ranking second in hitting percentage (.338) and blocks per set (1.11). Fletcher also ranks fourth in service aces (0.37). Other Friars that find themselves at the top of the league rankings are senior co-captain Emily Morris (Hermosa Beach, Calif.), who ranks third in service aces at 0.39 per set, junior setter Carly Morrison (Larkspur, Calif.), who ranks fifth in assists at 7.50 per set and junior Shelagh Dolan (Westford, Mass.), who ranks ninth in hitting percentage at .211.
Head Coach Margot Royer-Johnson's squad enters the match having won six of their last eight matches, including the last three-straight matches on the road. The match with the Big Green concludes a five-match road swing for the Friars.
The Opposition
Dartmouth College (9-2, 1-0 Ivy League) The Big Green enters the match coming off a four-set win over Harvard in their Ivy League opener. The win over the Crimson also was the home-opener for Dartmouth.
The Big Green is led by junior Madeline Baird, who is averaging 4.03 kills per set, tops in the Ivy League. The attack is set-up by junior setter Kendall Houston, who's 9.74 sets per assist ranks third in the conference. Dartmouth also features the top defensive player in the Ivy League in junior Amber Bryant. The defensive specialist is averaging 5.75 digs per set.
Dartmouth and Providence have had one common opponent thus far on the season, with both squads posting wins over Quinnipiac. Dartmouth is 2-1 against America East foes, scoring wins over Hartford and Binghamton while falling to New Hampshire. The Friars are 0-1 against the Ivies on the season, falling to cross-town rival Brown in three sets.

The Friars begin a new chapter in program history on Friday, October 1, when they play host to Stony Brook at 6:00 p.m. The match will mark the team's first match as a member of the America East conference. Providence wraps-up the week with a Sunday, October 3, match against Hartford at 1:00 p.m. at Mullaney Gymnasium.
