WEST HARTFORD, CONN. - The Providence College volleyball team fell to Hartford, 3-0, on Friday, October 28 in West Hartford, Conn. The Hawks edged the Friars, 25-20, 25-22 and 25-21, in three sets.
Lauren Hendel led the Friar effort with eight kills. Carly Morrison played a solid all-around match with four kills on six attempts, 21 assists and seven digs. Cassie Muzzonigro contributed a match-high 10 digs. As a team, Providence recorded a 0.040 hitting percentage, while Hartford hit at a 0.207 clip. The Friars connected on seven service aces in the match, while the Hawks checked in with three.
Two members of Hartford's squad recorded double-digit kills in Michelle Cordell (11) and Kami Nethersole (11). Jackie Tamburri tallied 36 assists and a team-best nine digs.
The Friars return to action on Sunday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m. against New Hampshire. The match will be played in Durham, N.H.
