ALBANY, N.Y. - The Providence College women's volleyball team fell to Albany (17-25, 15-25, 18-25) in straight sets during America East action on October 7 in Albany, N.Y.
Senior Lauren Fletcher (Syracuse, N.Y.) led the Friars with nine kills, while senior Shelagh Dolan (Westford, Mass.) added five. Senior Carly Morrison(Larkspur, Calif.) recorded 18 assists and three digs on the evening.
Four Great Danes registered double-digit kills in the match. Samantha Brostrom, Casey Wright and Traci Vandegrift each posted 11 kills, while Dunja Prgomet checked in with 10 kills. Albany's defense was equally impressive, totaling 45 digs, led by Brostrom (12). Brooke Stanley recorded 49 of the Great Danes' 52 assists.
Providence remains on the road for another America East match against Binghamton on Sunday, October 9. The match will take place at 1:00 p.m. in Vestal, N.Y.
