ALBANY, N.Y. -- Providence College senior middle blocker Lauren Fletcher (Syracuse, N.Y.) was named to the All-America East First Team on Thursday, November 17 in Albany, N.Y.
Fletcher, a Second Team selection in 2010, is the only Friar to earn All-America East honors since Providence College joined the America East Conference in 2010.
Earlier this year Fletcher became only the ninth player to reach the 1,000-kill milestone, and the first since 2008. She also is tied for third all-time at Providence with 397 career blocks and ranks third all-time in career hitting percentage of (0.292).
