Providence (4-17, 0-7 BIG EAST) is led by sophomore Kayla Fitzgerald (Redlands, Calif.), who is averaging 2.89 kills per set. Junior Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) has recorded 8.44 assists per set, which ranks seventh in the BIG EAST. Sophomore Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) has registered 5.11 digs per set and 0.28 service aces per set. Cruz leads the BIG EAST in digs and ranks fourth in service aces.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN (7-13, 1-6 BIG EAST): The Hoya's have dropped their last two matches, against Villanova (3-1), on Oct. 10 and Seton Hall (3-1), on Oct.11. Georgetown's lone BIG EAST win was a 3-0 victory over DePaul on Saturday, Oct. 4. Terese Cannon leads the team with 2.91 kills per set. Caitlin Brauneis has a team-high 9.65 assists per set while Mackenzie Simpson leads the defense with 4.39 digs per set. Also on the defensive end, Dani White has posted 1.07 blocks per set.
SCOUTING CREIGHTON (13-7, 6-1 BIG EAST): The Bluejays only BIG EAST loss came against Seton Hall (3-1) on Friday, Oct. 10. Creighton leads the BIG EAST in kills (14.17 per set) and assists (13.19). Kelli Browning paces the offense with 3.43 kills per set. She also has contributed defensively with 1.30 blocks per set. Maggie Baumert has tallied 10.21 assists on the season. Kate Elman has recorded a team-best 4.69 digs per set.
After the weekend home series, the Friars return home to Alumni Hall to play against St. John's on Saturday, Oct. 25 for a 2:00 p.m. match.
