Providence (4-14, 0-4 BIG EAST) is led by sophomore Kayla Fitzgerald (Redlands, Calif.), who is averaging 2.81 kills per set. Junior Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) has recorded 8.02 assists per set, which ranks seventh in the BIG EAST. Sophomore Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) has registered 5.06 digs per set and 0.29 services aces per set. Cruz leads the BIG EAST in digs and ranks fifth in service aces.
SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S (12-7, 1-3 BIG EAST): The Red Storm are led by Karin Palgutova, who is averaging 4.06 kills per set, good for first in the BIG EAST. Deniz Mutlugil has a team-best 10.6 assists per set while Shawna-Lei Santos leads the defense with 3.84 digs per set. The Red Storm ranks first as a team in service aces, averaging 1.54 per set. Aleksandra Wachowica leads the conference with 0.46 service aces per set. St. John's lone BIG EAST win came against DePaul (3-0) on Friday, Sept. 26.
After St. John's, the Friars return home to host a pair of conference matches at Alumni Hall on Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11. Providence will square off against Xavier on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Butler on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
