Providence (4-15, 0-5 BIG EAST) is led by sophomore Kayla Fitzgerald (Redlands, Calif.), who is averaging 2.77 kills per set. Junior Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) has recorded 8.04 assists per set, which ranks seventh in the BIG EAST. Sophomore Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) has registered 5.09 digs per set and 0.28 services aces per set. Cruz leads the BIG EAST in digs and ranks fifth in service aces
SCOUTING XAVIER (9-8, 2-3 BIG EAST): The Musketeers have dropped two straight matches against Seton Hall (3-1) and Marquette (3-1). Abbey Bessler leads the team in kills with 3.47 per set. Aubree Smith has a team-best 8.60 assists per set to rank sixth in the BIG EAST. She also ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in hitting percentage (.333). Jesse Earl leads the defense with 4.33 digs per set to rank sixth in the league. Earl also stands in third place in the conference for service aces (0.30 per set).
SCOUTING BUTLER (11-6, 3-2 BIG EAST): The Bulldogs enter the weekend on a two-game win streak after defeating Villanova (3-0) and DePaul (3-0). Prior to Saturday's match, Butler plays St. John's on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Belle Obert has a team and conference-high 4.18 kills per set. Makayla Ferguson leads the conference with 11.00 assists per set. Kayla Bivins has a team-best 1.39 blocks per set to lead the league. Jadyn Yarling is averaging 4.21 digs per set.
After the weekend home series, the Friars travel to Georgetown on Friday Oct. 17 (12:00 p.m.) and Creighton Sunday, Oct. 19 (2:00 p.m.).
