In the first half, the Rams took the lead in the fifth minute, 1-0, with a goal from Ivana Lahcanski and an assist from Nicol Natalie.

The Friars responded quickly as freshman Christina Klaum (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) scored off a corner kick from sophomore Rachel Ugolik (Hamden, Conn.) to tie the game, 1-1, marking Klaum's first career goal.

In the 31st minute, senior Allison Walton (Brunswick, Maine) scored a goal assisted by sophomore Kendall Andrew (North Easton, Mass.) to give the Friars the lead, 2-1.

Junior Catherine Zimmerman (Madison, N.J.) notched her third goal on the season to secure a 3-1 lead in the 42nd minute. The assist was registered by senior Alyssa Martino (Plainville, Conn.).

The second half went scoreless and the Friars posted the win.

Fordham goalkeeper Ally White registered four saves on the game. Sophomore Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) made three saves and recorded the win for the Friars. In the 78th minute, Shea made a key save after Fordham forward Kate McDonnell's shot on net.

"We conceded a goal against the run of play, but other than that a fantastic performance," said Head Coach Sam Lopes. "I am really proud of the motivation, attitude and ability demonstrated tonight by the team."

The Friars return to action at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25 to play their first BIG EAST conference matchup against Seton Hall University.
