LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Providence College women's volleyball team fell to the Colgate Raiders in five sets on Saturday, Sept. 19. The Friars won the first two sets (25-22, 25-21) but lost the last three (25-22, 25-23, 15-9).
Kayla Fitzgerald (Redlands, Calif.) tallied her second double-double of the day with 17 kills and 10 digs. Marina Rose (Coventry, Conn.) also recorded her second double-double of the day with 12 kills and 11 digs. Emily Horner (Mission Viejo, Calif.) posted 15 kills in the match.
Providence's defense was led by Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.), who recorded 24 digs and 54 of the Friars' 63 assists. Michelle Cruz (Midlands Park, N.J.) tallied 24 digs.
Fitzgerald and Cruz were named to the Bucknell Invitational All-Tournament Team.
The Friars are back in action in their first BIG EAST game against Xavier in Cincinnati, Ohio on Sept. 25 at 7:00 p.m.
