Women's Hockey To Play Princeton

FOR STARTERS...

Providence will host ECAC opponent Princeton University at Schneider Arena for a two-game non-conference series.
The Friars and the Tigers will play on Oct. 22 and 23, with both games starting at 2:00 p.m.
The Tigers will open their season with the series.

Scouting the Friars...

The Friars open the non-conference series against Princeton after defeating Union, 4-2, on Oct. 18.
The Friars have won each their last three games, marking the team's first three-game win streak since 2013. During that streak, the program defeated Maine (Nov. 23 & 24, 2013) and Brown (Nov. 30, 2013).
In the Friars' last outing, Christina Putigna led the team with three points on one goal and two assists.
Putigna has now registered five points in the past three games.
Cassidy Carels extended her point streak to six games after scoring the game-winning tally on the power play vs. Union.
Whitney Dove registered two assists for the second time in three games.
Madison Sansone and Brooke Boquist also tallied goals for the Friars.
Alanna Serviss posted her first start of the 2016-17 season, making 18 saves.
Rachel Rockwell registered an assist, giving her five points in the last two games.
The Friars' freshmen account for 32 percent of the team's points (17/52 points).
Providence's defensive core has combined for 18 of the team's 52 points (34%).

SCOUTING THE TIGERS...

The Tigers open their season at Schneider Arena with the two-game series.
Princeton opens the season receiving votes in the USCHO Coaches Poll.
The Tigers finished the 2015-16 season with a 22-9-2 overall record and were defeated by eventual National Champion, University of Minnesota in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Tigers return their top two point scorers, Karlie Lund (17-22-39) and Kelsey Koelzer (17-16-33).
Alysia DaSilva returns in net for Princeton, playing in six games last season with a .954 save percentage and 0.94 goals against average.
Princeton ended the 2015-16 season with a 14.2% success rate on the power play (19/134) and 90.4% penalty kill rate (104/115).
