PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team is set to take on Bryant University on Sept. 20 at 7:00 p.m. in Alumni Hall. The Friars have an 11-4 record and are coming off of a two wins on the final day of the Columbia University Tournament. There will be live stats and a live stream for the match against Bryant. Live Stream vs. Bryant: Sept. 20 at 7:00 p.m. SCOUTING PROVIDENCE: An important part to the Friars strong start to their season is their well-balanced attack. Providence has three different players with more than 100 kills on the season. Sophomore Megan Onyundo (Woodbridge, Va.) leads the Friars with 145 kills (2.96 kps) with senior Kayla Fitzgerald (Redlands, Calif.) and sophomore Allison Impellizeri (Seaford, N.Y.) also having over 100 kills with 119 (2.33) and 120 (2.45), respectively.
Chicyia Clark (Huntington Beach, Calif.) has been the setter for the Friars, recording 508 (9.77 asp) so far this season. Clark has also recorded 22 service aces (.42 saps) and 132 digs (2.54 dps) for the Friars.
Defensive specialist Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J) has led the Friars in digs. To this point in the season, Cruz has totaled 273 (4.96 dps). Onyundo and Fitzgerald have also been strong defensively, recording 121 and 114 digs respectively.
SCOUTING BRYANT: Bryant has started their season 8-8. The Bulldogs have won their past five games, including three at the Mason Invitational.
The Bulldogs have relied on Kiley Robbins and Sara DePouw for their attack. Robbins has 107 kills (2.55 kps) and DePouw has 110 kills (2.68 kps) thus far. Bryant's setter has been Vika Katzen, who 373 assists (7.31 aps) this season.
Bryant's has a well-balanced defense spread out between Erica Vendituoli, Kristin Kingi and Katzen. Vendituoli leads the Bulldogs with 158 digs (3.4 dps) while Kingi and Katzen having 134 and 132 digs respectively.
