The Providence College men's soccer team defeated the Bryant Bulldogs, 1-0 on Sept. 4, 2016. The Friars improve to 2-2 while Bryant drops to 0-3.
Danny Griffin (Wethersfield, Conn.) notched his first collegiate goal in the 32nd minute of the game. Julian Gressel (Neustadt an der Aisch, Germany) volleyed the ball into the box to find Griffin alone for a chip in goal.
Gressel's assist marks his seventh point in the four games of the 2016 season, with three goals and one assist.
Colin Miller (Bel Air, Md.) started in net for the Friars and tallied his first career shutout and made a career high five saves.
Providence outshot Bryant 13-11 and Bryant's keeper Nick Stewart made seven saves. Bryant held the advantage in corner kicks (7-3).
The Friars are back in action at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium to host the SMU Mustangs on Friday, Sept. 9 as a part of the RI Capital City Classic.
