The first goal came in the 20th minute, Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) headed the ball into the box to Rachel Ugolik. Ugolik touched the ball over Colgate's Chiavaro and into the goal for a 1-0 Friar lead in the 20th minute.

The Friars sustained offensive pressure with a few fast break plays in the second half. Juliana Pellegrini (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) created a one-on-one opportunity with the Colgate keeper but shot just wide of the net.

Providence doubled their lead when sophomore defender Hailee Duserick (Canton, Mass.) sent a ball into the box to find Pellegrini, who then headed the ball past the Colgate keeper and into the net in the 60th minute.

In the 86th minute Ugolik sent the ball into box and Christina Klaum (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) gained control of the ball and the sent it to the far left corner of the net, lifting the Friars lead to 3-0.

Providence struck a fourth time with just over two minutes remaining in the second half. Samantha Nelbach tallied her first collegiate goal with a shot from 30-yards out.

With 25 seconds remaining Jill Clapp (Marshfield, Mass.) collected the ball just outside the box and took a shot that soared past the Colgate keeper to finalize the Friar win at 5-0.

Coach Lopes stated after the game, "Great win against a very good Colgate team that was coming in undefeated with some impressive results. The team worked hard, had good ideas on attack and scored some great goals. Certainly earning a 3rd shutout in a row speaks volumes to their commitment to put in a complete performance. I'm proud of their efforts and the win but more importantly, proud of the growth they're all having in our season."

Providence will face cross-city rival Brown on Sept. 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.
